About Ram Krishnan

The grief from losing both my parents to untimely deaths was overwhelming and transformative. It was a turning point in my life, sparking a deep-seated desire to contribute, in my own way, to the field of healthcare. Driven by this newfound purpose, I searched for ways to participate in a healthcare startup, either through investment or operational involvement, where I could make a positive impact and honor their memory.

Along with Adam Rizika and Dr. Ganesh Shankar, Ram Krishnan co-founded CSF Biosciences, a seed-stage company committed to the development of diagnostic assays for primary and metastatic brain tumors using CSF (Cerebrospinal Fluid). The primary goal is to commercialize TetRS, a rapid and targeted qPCR, CSF-based genotyping assay that can detect primary and metastatic brain tumors within 80 minutes of obtaining a CSF specimen, while obviating a brain biopsy. The diagnostic assay was developed by Dr. Ganesh Shankar, a Mass General Brigham neurosurgeon.
